Espinoza & Brock The Voice of The Worker

Rebranding Texas’ premier work injury law firm with a story-driven digital presence that ranks at the top of search results.

Espinoza & Brock

Espinoza & Brock is the gold standard for Texas work injury law firms, led by Javier Espinoza, Lara Brock, and their team of eight attorneys.

As a first-generation American immigrant with blue-collar roots and the first in his family to graduate high school, Javier founded his firm to be “The Voice of the Worker.” He joined forces with Lara, who was raised in a working-class home that preached “strong and brave,” where competing meant winning.

Backed by attorney partners Steven Sachs, Amanda Spencer, and Dannick Villaseñor-Hernandez, the firm stands on its belief that every story matters, every client is heard, and everyone has a voice. Stories fuel the fight and deliver legal victories for workers across the state, from boardrooms to warehouses, restaurants to construction sites.

Testimonial

From the very beginning, Studio 3 set themselves apart with professionalism and a genuine commitment to our vision. They didn’t just design a website; they created an online presence that reflects who we are. What impressed us is they welcomed feedback and criticism, asked thoughtful questions, and their ability to adapt and turn ideas into reality. This collaboration has felt less like working with a vendor, more like working with a partner who cares just as much about the end result as we do.

Objectives & ApproachRealizing Brand Vision Through Creative Partnership

On top of building a 20+ year career as an attorney and founding one of the first fully focused work injury law firms in Texas, Javier Espinoza also studied art in college. When it came to his firm’s marketing, Javier’s experience was that most agencies didn’t fully grasp the brand he’d built or his target market. As a result, he often ended up personally art-directing the firm’s marketing assets, from the website to billboards and TV commercials.

Upon partnering with Lara Brock, the firm needed an agency to support the rebrand and reimagine its website. Javier didn’t want a typical “legal marketing” agency. He sought a creative team who could help envision something new, distinctive, and true to the firm’s identity and ideals. After vetting several, Studio 3 was selected for the honor.

Understanding the diverse classes, cultures, and professions of the Texas workforce was intrinsic to the project. With a clear vision for how the brand serves the state’s workers, Javier and Lara collaborated with Studio 3 to translate this vision into brand assets built for use across multimedia channels.

“I Know How It Feels”

The personal stories and backgrounds of the attorney partners at Espinoza & Brock in many ways parallel the life experiences of the clients they serve. To bring this forward, one of the primary creative vehicles for the brand was a series of video vignettes, each attorney’s story told in a personal environment: Lara’s family home, Stephen’s jiu-jitsu dojo, Javier’s kitchen, and Amanda’s farm.

Henry Cisneros, Lucha Libre & El Chavo

Over 64% of San Antonio’s population, and many of the firm’s clients, are Latino. It was imperative that the new web visuals authentically represent this culture. Filming on location in San Antonio and at Javier’s home, great care was taken to capture every nuance and detail, from art, music, and history to popular cultural references and cuisine.

The Premier Work Injury Firm

Espinoza & Brock is the only law firm in Texas that handles all four categories of cases arising from work injuries: workers’ compensation, non-subscriber, third-party, and Labor Code 451 cases. While the firm also handles other types of cases, its website needed to differentiate and highlight its unique experience and expertise in representing injured workers from all walks of life for branding and SEO purposes.

Branding, Website Design (UI/UX), S3 Video & Photography The Challenge:Something Totally Different

In the first kick-off meeting, Javier challenged the Studio 3 team to create something different, unlike the tropes other law firms use in marketing, and certainly nothing “clowny,” as he described much of the marketing aimed at Latinos. This set the goal. From brand visuals, photo compositions and video concepts, to the custom animations created for the website and moody color palette selected for it, every choice was atypical. Every choice was bold.

Several brand concepts were explored, from the brightness of San Antonio Fiesta to the deep reds of the legacy brand. But when the first attorney images from the photoshoot emerged, the brand reverse-engineered itself.

The brand overview video was filmed in Javier’s home with Lara, Stephen, and Amanda over for dinner with fajitas and red wine. No sales pitch or trite claims. Just human moments between a team who share the same passion for helping others.
